Told with honesty and the imperfect logic that makes us human
Just like nature’s seasons shift—unbothered by what we want or expect—Lea’s debut memoir glides through the different phases of her life, starting not with her birth, but with a rebirth, of sorts: a fresh look at life, from the eyes of love. From there, it’s a roller coaster of tragedy, triumph, friendship, betrayal, and painful heartbreak. She shares beautiful stories of love and loss, deep emotional struggles, and her journey through them all—including the raw, real moments of being a mother and stepmother—reminding us we don’t have to face life’s storms alone.
Lea’s memoir is, as expected, a raw account of her life’s ups and downs—told with honesty and the imperfect logic that makes us human. She shows how toxic relationships can creep in unnoticed, how true friendships often blossom in times of need, and how resilience rises again and again, fueled by personal growth. Lea’s deep connection to nature becomes a steady emotional rhythm—a healing pulse in the background of life’s challenges. Like a moving train, her journey has winters that are harsh and unforgiving, but they’re always followed by a bright, blooming spring that speaks of growth and transformation.
Lea’s writing is compelling, a poetic journey that flows like a novel: “A butterfly does not mourn its cocoon,” she reflects, “It honors it—the place of darkness and struggle that made flight possible.” Vivid mental images of deep drama and joy fill the pages, and her emotions pour out effortlessly, chronicling loneliness, marriage, devotion, deception, and death, all wrapped in the realization that “I was here to rise. To fly. To love this life, no matter how it unfolded… My story, like every season, was always meant to evolve.” Lea’s vulnerable account of grieving and healing—as many times as it takes to be whole—sharpens the beauty of everyday life and reminds readers that “it’s never too late to begin again.”
Takeaway: Lyrical rendering of a life of love, grief, and healing.

More Than a Story: A Journey Into Bravery
Picked up The Seasons That Shaped Me expecting a good read, but what I found was a powerful narrative that challenged me to rethink fear, not as the absence of fear, but as the willingness to act despite it. The narrative serves as a powerful reminder that taking a brave step, no matter how small, can be life-changing.

Deeply relatable on so many levels
I absolutely loved reading this book—it was deeply relatable on so many levels. It captures the highs and lows we all experience in life, as well as the contrast between how others may perceive us and the personal struggles we’re truly facing. The author beautifully illustrates what it feels like to soar at the highest of highs, fall to the lowest of lows, and ultimately fight your way toward a new sense of normal.

Angie’s writing style is descriptive, colorful, engaging, and lovely.
I’ve never read a memoir before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I certainly wasn’t prepared to read and experience the joy of finding so many similarities between the author and myself and her life and mine. I didn’t anticipate connecting with her experiences so deeply. Angie’s writing style is descriptive, colorful, engaging, and lovely. Her story of pain, love, loss, and rebirth through sheer determination and spiritual strength left me feeling proud of her and indeed proud of every woman who has forged ahead through difficulties to grab onto and hold tight to the life they deserve. I’m grateful for Angie’s willingness to grant us this honest, open, and vulnerable look into her journey. What an honor.

many quotes i’ll be used in my own life and serve as a reminder of potential.
This was the first memoir I’ve ever read. At least for personal choice. And I’m so glad it was Angie’s. Her journey through her seasons has always inspired me. I’m grateful she gave the world a glimpse into parts of her journey and life. Many quotes will be used in my own life and serve as a reminder of potential.
Can’t wait for her next memoir someday!

A powerful journey of healing and self-discovery.
In this deeply moving and beautifully written novel, the author takes us on a powerful journey of healing and self-discovery. We meet a young’s woman who has endured immense heartbreak, navigating not only the loss of a loved one but also the emotional wreckage left by a toxic and abusive new relationship. The story doesn't shy away from the raw and difficult emotions that come with grief and betrayal, but it handles them with a tender and unflinching honesty that is both rare and refreshing.
What truly sets this book apart is its focus on the anutor’s internal world. Instead of finding salvation in another person, she embarks on a courageous path of reconnecting with herself. We witness her slow but steady process of reclaiming her voice, her strength, and her sense of self-worth. The author masterfully illustrates how healing isn't a linear process, filled with perfect days, but is instead a messy, beautiful, and ultimately triumphant journey of learning to love oneself.
This is more than just a story of survival; it's a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. It is a powerful reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is hope for a new beginning. This book is a must-read for anyone who has ever felt lost and is looking for a story that will inspire, empower, and remind them that their own strength is the most powerful tool they have.

After this read, the changing seasons will forever mean more to me
What a gem of a book. I’ve never really thought I’d enjoy a memoir, and this was my first time picking one up. I was surprised at how quickly I got pulled in, turning page after page to see what came next. It’s made me look at my own seasons of change with more hope and possibility. After this read, the changing seasons will forever mean more to me—reminding me to keep growing, keep renewing, and keep spreading my wings.

Transformational and gave me a profound sense of hope.
The Seasons that Shaped Me was the first book I read after a month avoiding text during tbi recovery, and it was a perfect book to get me reading again.
The story is transformational and gave me a profound sense of hope.
I think readers can learn so much from this book about empathy, boundaries, and giving ourselves permission to be who we want to be.

Kept my attention from start to end.
This book was amazing. The Author painted a picture of every scenario in the book by being so distributive, to help the reader feel the emotions the characters were feeling. This was an amazing book that kept my attention from start to end. I felt like I knew the characters. I cried and smiled and fully enjoyed reading this wonderful book. I would highly recommend reading it.

so many highlights and notes I am looking forward to going back through them and checking back with myself.
I feel so blessed that I was able to read this book without any distractions as I was camping off the grid with no service, just the book and fresh air.
When Angie wrote:
“I began to feel safe sharing my story authentically and listened to the stories or others, finding intersections in our stories of love, loss, grief and joy. “
It took me back to moments in my own life when I have felt this connection and how special this was and how I have been longing for this feeling again.
Going through the seasons, the grief Angie experienced as well as the other emotions of being scared and doing hard things and really becoming herself made me think of things I have held back because of myself or other people.
Chapter 12: Wild Awakening has so many highlights and notes I am looking forward to going back through them and checking back with myself.
Thank you Angie for taking us on your journey of deepness. Love, grief, self doubt, bravery, fear and all the things in between. I’m cheering for you. 💙
