Inspiration: During a weekend away to meet up with some friends to snowshoe up Hurricane Ridge, I found a little teacup in a shop with an orca pattern on it. I woke in the morning and made myself a cup of coffee in my new cup and savored the morning, feeling content and rested. I met my friends for our adventure and as I was basking in the gorgeous bluebird day and snowy ridge before me, the idea came to me like a message on the wind to paint an orca whale. Sometimes we need to capture these ideas and embrace them before they float off to find someone else to land upon. This orca might have something of a grin - just as I did that morning making my way to the summit with my face turned up and the sun shining on me.
